I contest the statement that "superb art can elevate a poor story, and shoddy art will kill Pulitzer material." I've read well-written webcomics in which the amateur art was no problem at all (ex: Adventurers!) Often, the fans will reward the creator with well-drawn fanart of the creator's characters!. Conversely, I've been turned off webcomics which were well-drawn and gorgeously detailed, because the writing disagreed with me (ex: Furfire).
